美國12歲神童巴奈特（JacobBarnett）解開一些高階的數學概念，令大學教授大為震驚。

英國「每日郵報」（Daily Mail）報導，巴奈特的智商有170，比愛因斯坦還高，他現在在印第安納大學的程度已經十分高階，因此教授讓他加入博士研究的角色。

神童巴奈特在一周內自學微積分、代數、幾何學與三角函數，現在則在下課後當大學同學的家教。

現在，巴奈特已經開始著手他最具雄心的計畫，也就是自己發展出的「愛因斯坦相對論延伸版」。

他的母親不確定她的小孩是在胡言亂語，還是真的是天才，因此把他發展理論的影片寄給普林斯頓大學（Princeton University）附近的高等研究所（Institute for Advanced Study）。

根據高等研究所的天體物理學教授特雷梅恩（Scott Tremaine）的說法，證實了巴奈特理論的真實性。

在寄給巴奈特家人的信件中，特雷梅恩寫到：「他對物理的興趣還有他學到的東西，讓我印象深刻。」

他說：「他正在發展的理論，需要運用到許多天體物理學與理論物理最艱難的問題。」

巴奈特自己也知道家人不擅長數學，他也說：「每當我想跟家裡的人談數學時，他們總是愣在那。」

巴奈特小時候被診斷出亞斯伯格症候群（Aspergers syndrome），這是一種輕度的自閉症。

他到兩歲時還不會說話，讓父母很擔心，懷疑他在接受教育方面異常。

直到他開始長大，他們才知道他的天賦有多特別。

他會在筆記簿上畫滿複雜的幾何圖形與演算過程，然後拿起油漆筆在窗戶上寫下方程式。

到了3歲時，他可拼出5000片的拼圖，甚至研讀全國道路地圖，背下每條公路名稱。

到了8歲時，他已經離開高中，就讀印第安納大學與普渡大學印第安納波利斯聯合分校（IndianaUniversity-Purdue University Indianapolis）的高階天體物理學課程。

電影《美麗境界》描述一位天才數學家，在罹患精神分裂症後仍獲得諾貝爾經濟學獎的故事。而美國則有一名12歲的小男孩，在2歲前連話都不會說，被醫師診斷出有亞斯伯格症(Aspergers syndrome)；但現在他的智商已有170，比愛因斯坦還高。據了解，已有大學教授準備讓他加入博士研究課程。

這位神童巴奈特(Jacob Barnett)在一周內自修學會了微積分、代數、幾何學與三角函數，並且教導他的「大學同學」們；同時他也著手挑戰愛因斯坦的相對論，巴奈特將它取名為「相對論延伸版」。

巴奈特的母親說：「他的天賦絕對不是遺傳到我，因為我數學不及格。」她表示，巴奈特小時候患有輕微自閉症，從不曾對人說話，也不會多看家人一眼。為了協助巴奈特走出封閉的世界，父母決定多觀察兒子，陪伴他做喜歡的事；後來他們發現，巴奈特不只對天文數理充滿興趣，而且相當有天分。

巴奈特8歲時至印第安納大學(Indiana University)旁聽天文課，12歲時則在專家的建議下，攻讀博士級的天體物理學課程。印第安納大學的教授說，巴奈特的研究理論中，包含許多深奧的物理學難題，只要能夠解開這些問題，他一定會得到諾貝爾獎。

不過神童也有他異於常人的煩惱，巴奈特的母親說：「他總是難以入眠，無盡的數字問題都會在夜晚襲來；現在他決定把這些失眠的時間，拿來研究相對論。」(責任編輯：張力天)
